Dr. Joe G.N. "Skip" Garcia, UA senior vice president for health sciences, will discuss a variety of topics –  from Never Settle progress to research infrastructure expansion – during a town hall meeting on Thursday.

The town hall starts at 4 p.m. in DuVal Auditorium at the UA Medical Center. A reception will follow at the UA Cancer Center in the first-floor main lobby. Employees, students and members of the community are invited to attend.

Garcia will discuss information and updates related to health sciences at the UA, focusing specifically on major growth in research infrastructure, personnel and programs. He also will talk about recent strategic hires, the establishment of new research centers and how the Arizona Health Sciences Center plans to meet one- and five-year goals in addition to mandates set forth by the UA's Never Settle strategic academic and business plan.

Once he completes his presentation, Garcia will answer questions from the audience. Those who have questions can submit them in advance by sending them to Rebecca Nunn at rnunn@email.arizona.edu or can ask them in person at the event.

For students and employees at the Phoenix Biomedical Campus, the town hall will be streamed live. A recording of the town hall will be posted online afterwards.

You can also follow @UAHealthNet on Twitter for live updates during the event.
