Dr. Deisinger is a Managing Partner of SIGMA and since 2009 also serves as Deputy Chief of Police and Director of Threat Management Services for Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Dr. Deisinger has managed threat cases and protective details for a broad range of governmental dignitaries, public figures, and members of university communities. Dr. Deisinger is lead author of The Handbook for Campus Threat Assessment & Management Teams. The Handbook has been recognized as exemplifying best practices for implementing and operating campus threat assessment and management teams. Dr. Deisinger currently serves as a subject matter expert and trainer for the Campus Threat Assessment Training initiative, a program offered through the US Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.

Rich Wilson is a Senior Consultant with SIGMA and a nationally recognized leader in the professions of threat assessment and higher education police work. During his 25 years of campus law enforcement experience, he distinguished himself as one of the earliest practitioners of behavioral threat assessment in higher education and has over 16 years of experience in case management and team training. He also served as a crisis negotiation team leader. Mr. Wilson is a Certified Protection Professional and has extensive experience in event security planning, to include numerous Super Bowl games, summer and winter Olympics games, NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, and numerous Presidential and dignitary protection details.

This informative presentation emphasizes the importance and value of educating every member of our community about this important issue so that we can work together, as a community, to recognize and respond to threatening behavior.  Please plan to join us for what promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking presentation.
