Attention UArizona juniors and seniors:

Get paid to work with an experienced researcher while learning how you can impact environmental policy and/or strengthen Indigenous governance!

The Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy has opened applications for our second-annual Mo's Policy Scholars Program.

Mo's Policy Scholars is a competitive 14-week paid mentorship program for 9 University of Arizona students (juniors and seniors only) who are interested in having an impact on environmental and Indigenous governance policy.

If selected, you will be assigned your own mentor from the Udall Center's pool of University faculty research professionals, each of whom are experts in their field and have extensive research and publishing experience. This is a great opportunity to get real, professional academic experience in your field of study and in policy-adjacent research in general.

For 14 weeks during the fall semester you will earn a $1,400 stipend to:

  • Work approximately five hours per week as a program assistant with your mentor.
  • Attend monthly in-person educational meetings (five total) with your Mo's Policy Scholars cohort. You must be available on the following dates and times:
    • Aug. 27, 2024 – 3-6 p.m.
    • Sept. 17, 2024 – 3-4:30 p.m.
    • Oct. 16, 2024 – 3-4:30 p.m.
    • Nov. 19, 2024 – 3-4:30 p.m.
    • Dec. 3, 2024 – 3-6 p.m.
  • Present a final project that summarizes your experience as a Mo's Scholar.

Applications are due April 5, 2024 at noon.
