Festivus Is Coming! Nov. 18, 2022

The annual University BookStores Festivus returns Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Student Union Memorial Center location. On Friday November 18, from 8 a.m.-6 p.m., employees can take advantage of significant in-store discounts – 40% off one item and 25% off the remainder of your purchases (exclusions apply). Staff and faculty can shop throughout the day, but a CatCard is required to receive the discount. Discounts can be used only once per employee.

Originally from the show "Seinfeld," the event of Festivus begins with the airing of grievances and includes forgoing a Christmas tree for an unadorned aluminum pole. At the University of Arizona, Festivus takes on the role of a celebration to show appreciation for faculty and staff.

Employees are also able to pre-shop and place items on hold until the Festivus discount day. Items will be ready for pick-up and purchase at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 18.

Shoppers will be treated to refreshments, sweet treats, and entertainment from 3-6 p.m. Drawings for prizes include Ray Ban sunglasses, Google Nest Audio, apparel, and sports memorabilia. Employees are automatically entered to win prizes when checking out at the register and do not have to be present to win. You can also enter without making a purchase simply by going to the BookStores at the Student Union Memorial Center and having your CatCard scanned at the prize display table.
