University Information Technology Services (UITS), within the University of Arizona, is accepting applications for the position of Information Technology Support Analyst, Senior – Technology Specialist. The successful candidate will work as part of the Office of Student Computer Resources (OSCR) and will maintain the current computer systems and create the next. The position involves assisting the system administrators in maintaining hardware/software across several computer labs and helping student workers solve complex technical issues. The successful candidate will have the passion to investigate new technologies and drive implementation with the goal of supporting students. The position also requires the ability to collaborate with internal and external clients of varying technical skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

*  Identifies, analyzes, and resolves complex technical issues with computer hardware and software.

*  Guides student workers in resolving technical issues.

*  Assists system administrators with installing, configuring, and performing routine maintenance on systems hardware and software including servers and operating systems.

*  Conducts research of current and emerging computing technologies.

*  Identifies potential applications for emerging technology in current environment.

*  Creates pilot programs to evaluate new technology and presents recommendations for full-scale implementation.

*  Conducts user software needs analysis and makes recommendations for enhancements and continued improvement.

*  Creates virtual lab access for online students.

*  Administers and supports Math 100 testing center.

*  Identifies and creates process improvements which will include writing scripts to increase automation.

*  Leads project implementation for installing new hardware and software systems, enhancing efficiency, and/or other improvement projects.

*  Implements and monitors computer security and quality assurance procedures, and maintains associated required documentation.
