The University Analytics and Institutional Research (UAIR), within the University of Arizona is accepting applications for the position of Enterprise Systems Analyst. This position is to participate in a number of different areas within our team. These areas are both functional and technical in nature, and should provide a breadth of experience in different aspects of business intelligence, such as requirements gathering, IBM DataStage ETL, Data Modeling, Oracle Business Intelligence Administration, Student Administration, Human Resources, Financials, and Research Administration.

This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interviews data functional owners and users, defines analytical data needs/requirements, and initiates comprehensive assessment plans for the development of enterprise analytic subject areas.
  • Develops and communicates plans, ideas, requirements, concepts, logical models and goals to technical and non-technical data owners, users, and project team members.
  • Identifies enterprise data modeling sources, including transaction processes and source data tables; designs conceptual and logical models.
  • Develops physical and logical models of enterprise data for use in the delivery of analytical reporting solutions.
  • Conducts basic data analysis using online analytical processing (OLAP) and basic statistics.
  • Coordinates with the University Analytics and Institutional Research team and other key technical staff to schedule the creation and stabilization of new enterprise analysis data tables.
  • Plans, designs, creates, implements, and maintains enterprise data repository platforms for analytical reporting tools.
  • Plans, designs, creates, and implements enterprise data analysis quality assurance standards and testing processes.
  • Plans, designs, and creates written documentation related to assignments, such as problem identification/tracking; progress reports; proposed and implemented solutions; and metadata.
  • Plans, designs, creates, and implements concepts for the development and maintenance of enterprise data dashboards, reports and user documentation; maintains, updates and revises enterprise analytic reporting solutions to meet changing business needs.
  • Contributes to and conducts quality assurance for user training materials.
  • Develops ETL processes to source data from transaction systems and load  the Data Warehouse
  • Initiates and responds to user community emails regarding analytic tool questions, errors and updates.
