The University of Arizona has been selected as one of over 50 world-class institutions to participate in the Novartis Global Scholars Program (NGSP). Tech Launch Arizona is spearheading this effort and is ready to work with University of Arizona investigators to engage in this opportunity.

The Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) NGSP is a competitive program designed for innovators from invited institutions to gain $1 million over three years in funding for breakthrough science not covered by traditional grant support. Through this program, NIBR supports projects focused on novel science with the objective of being translated to drug discovery and/or clinical research. The deadline for submission of a 2-page proposal is in May 2022 (exact date to be announced).

In 2020, 38 institutions from 9 countries were invited to participate, and after a competitive selection process, 6 investigators were funded for their innovative projects that push scientific boundaries.

In 2020 and 2021, Novartis selected a total of 11 scholars, each receiving up to $1 million in funding over 3 years along with drug-discovery expertise from a dedicated NIBR scientific collaborator. Together with these distinguished scholars, Novartis is exploring new scientific frontiers in our shared mission to improve the lives of patients.

Representatives from the Novartis Global Scholars Program will be available to answer University of Arizona investigators' questions LIVE during a webinar on April 7 at 11 a.m. MST.
