Receive emergency alerts about critical incidents affecting University locations.

UAlert is a free service that delivers emergency alerts to registered University students, faculty and staff – as well as their friends and family – via SMS text or email on their cellphones, mobile devices and/or email accounts during an all-campus emergency.

Use this direct link to sign up for UAlert:

  • Receive SMS text alerts for the most timely delivery of UAlert notifications, separate from email notifications.

    • Receive location-specific alerts for Arizona South and the Phoenix Bioscience Core campus.
  • Renew your registration to UAlert every year, or any time you change your cell phone carrier by selecting your new carrier in the UAlert system.

More information is available on the FAQ page of the Critical Incident Response Team website.

Additional safety resources

You can familiarize yourself with additional safety resources available to the University community, including:

  • UAPD patrol officers monitor campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year. If you see something suspicious or need help, never hesitate to call 911 or 520-621-UAPD (8273).
  • The LiveSafe app provides real-time interaction with UAPD and allow users to report security and safety concerns via SMS text (reporting can be done anonymously). The app is available for both Apple and Android devices.

    • Identify the University of Arizona as the organization with which you want to use the service and enable live connection to campus safety professionals via text as well as 911 and non-emergency phone lines.
    • The LiveSafe app also allows you to connect immediately to UAPD or send friends and family a link so they can watch your progress if you are walking across campus.
  • There are more than 300 blue light phones – in addition to emergency phone lines in classrooms and elevators – across main campus. Each one is a direct line to the UAPD dispatch center that is staffed 24/7. Blue light phones are also located at the Phoenix Bioscience Core campus with a direct line to the security team.

    • Use blue light phones anytime you see suspicious activity or don’t feel safe. Once you press a button, UAPD officers will be dispatched to make sure the area is safe.
  • UAPD offers safe escort around the main campus (based on officer availability), and ASUA provides free rides – call 520-621-SAFE (7233) for information.
