Final Beam Placed Atop New UAHS Building

The last steel beam in the construction of the new Health Sciences Innovation Building has been hoisted into place. At a topping-off ceremony, the beam was signed by attendees and then lifted to the top of the nine-story building, which is scheduled to be completed in summer 2018.

Ask Your Questions About Career Architecture Project During Town Halls

Employees are encouraged to attend the town halls to learn more about the project, which will address job titles, career progression and compensation practices. "One of the commitments we made was that we were going to have a very heavy focus on communication," says Kelly Delforge, the project's director. The main campus town hall is scheduled for Nov. 2.

First Recipients of New Grant Program Advance International Collaboration

Seven faculty members from a variety of disciplines are the first to receive awards through a new UA-funded grants program. The International Research and Academic Program Development grants "provide faculty with resources to establish collaborative frameworks, assemble transdisciplinary partnerships and collect essential data required for competitive external funding," says Kimberly Andrews Espy, senior vice president for research.

With a large number of UAlert accounts about to expire, UAPD is urging members of the campus community to renew their subscriptions to the emergency alert system. Chief Brian Seastone also recommends using the LiveSafe app to report suspicious activity.
