Tannis Gibson Named Interim Dean of College of Fine Arts

Music professor Tannis Gibson is an internationally acclaimed pianist and award-winning educator. She joined the UA in 2000 and has served as associate director for faculty affairs in the School of Music and as co-chair of the University Advisory Committee on Promotion and Tenure.

New IT Leadership Academy Cohort Set to Begin in September

The IT Leadership Academy will kick off this September with a new cohort of 24 information technology professionals from across campus, who will expand their leadership skills and foster a more cohesive IT community. "These kinds of connections greatly improve the efficiency of our IT community and their ability to tackle our campus challenges," says Karen Williams, vice president for information strategy and university libraries.

Bruce Johnson Named Dean of College of Education

Johnson says his priorities include increasing scholarships, making it easier for working professionals to become teachers, and advancing research. "We need to continue to bring the research and expertise in the college to bear not only on our own curriculum ... but also on education practice and policy in our state, our country and across the globe," he says.
