Share your military service photos with LQP

As Veterans Day approaches, Lo Que Pasa is looking to honor University employees who have served in the military. If you are a veteran, please send us pictures of you in uniform during your time in active duty, along with a current photo, so we can share them in the Nov. 3 issue of LQP.

Please include your name and title, your military branch and time of service, as well as information about the images, such as where they were taken and what/who is pictured. We kindly request that images be sent to uaatwork@arizona.edu by Friday, Oct. 29.

Last dates to get vaccinated before the Dec. 8 deadline

In order to comply with President Joe Biden's executive order requiring that employees of institutions that contract with the federal government be vaccinated against COVID-19, the University is asking faculty and staff to upload their vaccine documentation by Dec. 8.

President Robert C. Robbins announced the deadline in a message to employees last week.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines a person as being fully vaccinated two weeks after the second dose in a two-dose series or two weeks after receiving a single-dose vaccine.

As of Tuesday, 58% of employees had uploaded their documentation.

Those who need to make appointments to get vaccinated should receive their doses no later than the dates below. Employees can be vaccinated at Campus Health or they can use Vaccine Finder to find a nearby location.

Moderna vaccine

First dose: Oct. 27
Second dose: Nov. 24

Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine

First dose: Nov. 3
Second dose: Nov. 24

Johnson & Johnson vaccine

Single dose: Nov. 24

University employees, including student workers and graduate assistants/associates, must upload their vaccine documentation through the secure, HIPAA-compliant Campus Health system by Dec. 8. More information can be found on the COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement page.
