The UA campus feels a little different now than it did a month ago, what with the influx of new and returning Wildcats and faculty. With the start of the fall semester comes a whole host of events and opportunities to show your UA pride, connect with fellow employees, and explore what the campus has to offer.

Kick off September by cheering on the Arizona football team as the Wildcats take on Brigham Young University in the home opener. Later in the month, learn about the resources available to faculty at the Arizona State Museum, and hear from legal experts – both from the UA and across the country – about recent cases decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. Round out the month with a free screening of a classic film, presented by the School of Theatre, Film and Television.

For more information about what's going on around campus, check out the Master Calendar.

Widescreen Wednesdays Film – 'Sunset Boulevard' (1950) | Sept. 26

The School of Theatre, Film and Television kicks off this season of Widescreen Wednesday film screenings with "Sunset Boulevard," considered one of the greatest films of the classical Hollywood era.

The film stars William Holden as Joe Gillis, a struggling screenwriter who ends up in a twisted relationship with Norma Desmond, played by Gloria Swanson, a washed-up silent film star who enlists Joe's help with her screenplay in an effort to jump-start her career. The film, written and directed by Billy Wilder, was nominated for 11 Academy Awards, and won three.

The film will be introduced by Joshua Gleich, assistant professor in the School of Theatre, Film and Television. Widescreen Wednesday screenings, in the Center for Creative Photography, are free to attend.
