Learn About Employee Benefits at Campus Resource EXPO
Do you ever wonder what kind of perks you get as a UA employee? Do you want to join a networking or professional development group on campus but don't know where to start? What about reduced tuition? All of these questions and more will be answered at the second annual Campus Resource EXPO, hosted by the Division of Human Resources.
Employees will be able to find out about benefits, discounts and campus resources by perusing the tables of 45 campus departments and units. Representatives from across campus will give special presentations and demonstrations, and will be available to answer questions.
Besides sharing information, the EXPO gives employees a chance to network with others from across campus.
"The EXPO is a wonderful opportunity to connect with colleagues across the University and to learn about the diverse groups, programs and services that are available,” said Allison Vaillancourt, vice president for business affairs and human resources.
The EXPO will be held Oct. 12 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Student Union Memorial Center, South Ballroom.
Most of last year's exhibitors will return, and some new features are planned like a performance from the Faculty Staff Choir at 11:30 a.m. and a demonstration from The Society for Creative Anachronism at 12:10 p.m., on the main stage in the ballroom.
Human Resources hopes to beat last year's attendance of about 700 people by offering more exhibitors that appeal to faculty, such as the Office of Instruction and Assessment, the Office of the Provost – Faculty Affairs, and Tech Launch Arizona.
"Each year our goal is to appeal to a broader and more diverse group of employees and faculty," said Dave Magoon, organizational consultant in Human Resources and the EXPO’s project manager.
Some of the other exhibitors will include:
- Ombuds Program
- University Libraries
- Campus Recreation
- Life & Work Connections
- Toastmasters
- Arizona Athletics
- Parking & Transportation Services

Lisa Stage, marketing specialist for the Office of the Chief Information Officer, attended the EXPO last year as an exhibitor and appreciated the opportunity to promote services and resources some employees might not be aware of, such as the 24/7 IT Support Center, which can answer questions about employees' personal computers and smartphones.
The inaugural EXPO, she said, was well-organized.
"Human Resources did such a good job of pulling everybody together, and touching base with us afterwards to make sure that they were holding the best possible event for exhibitors and for employees," Stage said. "I was really impressed with their dedication to supporting campus staff."
