Are you and your family bummed about the cancellation of the Tucson Festival of Books? Here's some good news: Some alternatives offered by the BookStores will allow you to still get your literary fix.

For the kids, there are free Storytime events on Saturday. For the adults, there is a 25% discount on all general books – online and in the store – through Sunday.

The BookStores had planned to hold Storytime Character Breakfast with Paddington Bear on Sunday, with special guest R.W. Alley, an illustrator who worked on the book "Paddington: Storybook Favorites." Alley's appearance has been canceled, but Storytime will go on, with a chance for kids to meet Paddington, sing songs and make crafts.

Storytime will be held twice on Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The BookStores holds free Storytime Character Hours on the first Saturday of each month for children ages 2-5. Attendees can meet their favorite storybook characters, read, make crafts and participate in other activities. The events are typically free.
