The University of Arizona Office of External Relations invites amateur photographers to bring their cameras and tripods to campus and then enter their best photographs in the UA FotoCat Contest.

Winning photographers will receive great prizes – including UA basketball tickets – and their photos will be showcased in the Star, used in UA publications and on the UA Web site, and will be featured in a photo exhibit at the Kachina Gallery in the Student Union Memorial Center. The contest is a joint project of the UA and the Arizona Daily Star.

Photographers can learn new techniques to get their images ready for the contest at the UA BookStores. University Information Technology Services, along with the BookStores and Apple, will conduct a series of iPhoto demonstrations in the C.A.T.S section of the Student Union BookStore. The training team will demonstrate new software and assist with editing and uploading images for the contest. The iPhoto demonstrations begin Nov. 3 and run through Nov. 25.
