The University of Arizona Foundation has named Linda Seitz vice president for development of university programs.

Seitz's responsibilities include providing executive leadership, vision and strategic direction for college and unit fundraising programs, directing major gift fundraising strategies for nonhealth science units and establishing annual program operating plans. Seitz started Monday.

"We are confident Linda will bring tremendous expertise, a collaborative approach, and a winning attitude to our development efforts across the entire UA campus," said Roger Neuhaus, senior vice president for development and university campaigns at the UA Foundation.

Most recently Seitz served as assistant vice president for development for the colleges of arts and sciences at Ohio State University. She worked in gift and fundraising management positions at Ohio State for 19 years and in development for other organizations since 1978.

Seitz said she is excited to work with college- and unit-based development directors across campus to focus on securing major fundraising gifts.

"Our goal is to seek out the private support dollars that provide the margin of excellence that each of the colleges and units need," she said.

"I am very excited to have this opportunity. What drew me from Ohio State was the energy at the UA and the opportunity to be connected with some first-class colleagues and be instrumental in shaping and growing the fundraising programs," she said.

The UA Foundation is one of the largest foundations in Arizona, raising more than $100 million annually. Managing an asset base of $400 million, the foundation has helped generate more than $2 billion in private funding to support the UA.
