University of Arizona employees can expect a new look and improved features in UAccess Employee beginning July 18.

The system is getting a facelift as a result of an upgrade to PeopleTools, the software tools used to create and maintain the UAccess Employee and UAccess Student systems.

Both systems will be unavailable from 5 p.m. July 15 to 6 a.m. July 18 while the upgrade takes place.

Most of the upgrade's effects will be behind-the-scenes. The functionality of the UAccess systems will not change, nor will the look of UAccess Student, said Kay Stevens Beasock, organizational communications manager for the Mosaic Project, the University's initiative to replace aging computer systems on campus. The UAccess Employee system, however, will look slightly different, with a new menu and navigation structure, she said.

Details on the upgrade can be found on the Mosaic Project website on the UAccess Systems Upgrades page. The  Benefits/Features area shows how the upgraded system will look. A list of Frequently Asked Questions is also available.

Information about UAccess training demonstrations and labs is available on the University Information Technology Services Workshops and Training page.
