Gallery: UA Offices Decorate Pumpkins, Pop Popcorn and Cook Chorizo for UA Cares
Many UA offices held fundraisers last week as part of the UA Cares [1] workplace giving campaign.
The Office of the Provost [2] held a pumpkin decorating contest, which had 30 participants and was able to raise $300 that will go to United Way of Southern Arizona. A panel of judges chose 15 winners in categories such as most creative, prettiest pumpkin, best use of props, best face, school spirit, best details and more. Thirty employees in the Office of the Provost held a pumpkin decorating contest, raising $300 for the UA Cares employee giving campaign. The Financial Services Office [4] also sold popcorn in the lobby of the University Services Building. Candy, sodas and raffle tickets to a variety of prize baskets were also for sale. Between the popcorn, candy and raffle sales, the Financial Services Office raised $617.50. The proceeds from the sale went to the Arizona Assurance Scholarship Program, which provides academic, financial and social support to low income Arizona residents.
For the 17th year, the Budget Office [5] held their annual chorizo breakfast sale, which sold chorizo and eggs, salsa, tortillas and orange juice for $5 a plate. Raffle tickets were also sold. The office raised $2,311 and proceeds from the breakfast went toward the Community Food Bank.
Enrollment Management [6]also participated by selling baked goods at Old Main and on the first floor of the Administration Building. They earned $664.51. Proceeds from this sale went toward the Arizona Assurance Scholarship Program, UA Employee Emergency Fund and Casa de los Ninos.
