New Title IX Website and Printed Materials
Mary Beth Tucker, Director, Office of Institutional Equity; Title IX Coordinator
The University of Arizona is committed to fostering a learning, working, and living environment free from all forms of discrimination, including harassment and sexual violence. The University's Nondiscrimination and Anti-harassment Policy and the Student Code of Conduct prohibit discrimination and harassment on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other protected categories, protections also found in federal law, including Title IX. All forms of sexual harassment, including sexual assault, relationship violence, and gender-based stalking are prohibited.
It is important that all members of our community know where to turn if they have a concern or want additional information about sex discrimination. It is imperative that our employees are aware of the obligation to report concerns and know who to contact to make a report.
Please visit our new Title IX website, www.titleix.arizona.edu [1], for more information on what constitutes sex-based discrimination, as well as resources and guidance for those affected by sex-based discrimination. The website has information on various complaint options and procedures, and steps that can be taken by the University for the safety of students and employees.
I would also like to highlight the new printed materials available both on the website and by request from the Office of Institutional Equity. Please take a moment to visit http://titleix.arizona.edu/printed_materials [2] and view our three new posters and student-centered resource brochure.
