Provost's Investment Fund Fall 2019 Recipients
Liesl Folks, Ph.D., MBA
Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost
I am writing to share the outcomes for the Fall 2019 Provost's Investment Fund round. We received 86 proposals in this round, including at least one from every college, requesting approximately $12.5 million in funds. The review team consisting of diverse faculty and staff reviewed and ranked all the proposals, with the result that the following 12 proposals will be funded, for $1.6 million over 3 years. My hearty congratulations to the awardees, and thanks to all those who made submissions.
Among the lead investigators on the 12 proposals awarded, based on self-identification data we have on race, ethnicity and gender, we have: 58% are led by males and 42% are led by females; 4 Hispanic; 1 American Indian or Alaska Native; 0 Asian; 1 Black or African American; 0 Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander; 6 White. (I regret that I don't have the demographic data for the full teams!)
