3rd Annual Sneaker Ball Event

UA Black Alumni
March 1, 2017

Join the University of Arizona Black Alumni Club at our 2017 Sneaker Ball fundraiser honoring the following leaders:

  • UA Black Alumni Community Award
    • Annie Sykes, president of the Black Women's Task Force
  • UA Black Alumni Distinguished Alumni Award
    • Benjamin Taylor, Esq., Law Office of Benjamin Taylor in Phoenix
  • UA Black Alumni Trailblazer Award
    • Perry A. Tarrant, assistant chief of Seattle Police Department and president of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement

UA Black Alumni (UABA) scholarship support makes a difference for students and helps them realize their dream of a college education. In 2016, the UABA awarded over $120,000 in scholarships and graduated 13 scholars. For the upcoming academic year, the goal is to award $180,000 in scholarships to at least 55 undergraduate and 10 graduate students.

The event attire is semi-formal and dinner will be provided. Dress to impress and don't forget to wear your sneakers!

General admission ticket price is $50 per guest, which is not a tax-deductible donation.

The event will be on April 21 at 6 p.m. in the Student Union Memorial Center, Grand Ballroom.
