Date: Mar 26, 2021

This event will be held virtually on April 21, 2021 from 9am - 4:30pm (UArizona Reading Day)

The Global Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference aims to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and to support women in the field. This one-day technical conference provides an opportunity to hear about the latest data science-related research and applications in a number of domains, and connect with others in the field.

WiDS Tucson is an independent event organized by the University of Arizona to coincide with the annual Global Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference held at Stanford University and an estimated 150+ locations worldwide. All genders are invited to attend WiDS regional events, which feature outstanding women doing outstanding work. Students, faculty or other data scientists identifying as female are invited to apply to present their research in our Data Blitz (3-minute lightning talks).

More information is available on the WiDS Tucson website.

Register for the conference by April 20, 2021.

Register to participate in the Data Blitz by April 4, 2021.

Female presenters will give a 3-minute overview of their research using 3 PowerPoint slides (template to be provided) discussing: the research problem, tools, and/or approach. Prizes awarded to the top 6 presenters selected by the audience.
