Accepting Applications: Interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate in Aging

Our world is experiencing a global demographic shift; by 2050 there will be an estimated 2.1 billion individuals age 60 and older, and the demand for professionals specializing in aging is growing across a wide range of disciplines including healthcare, long-term care, biomedical engineering, social services and business leadership.   

The new Graduate Certificate in Innovations in Aging offers you foundational knowledge of gerontology and how to implement innovations in your career to help older adults live longer and healthier lives.  

The fully online, asynchronous Graduate Certificate was developed in collaboration between the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, College of Medicine – Tucson, College of Medicine – Phoenix, College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing and the Arizona Center on Aging. This interdisciplinary approach is designed to enable interprofessional communication and collaboration. 

The curriculum is in alignment with the Association of Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE) standards and will provide you with the coursework and experience needed to apply for professional certification through the National Association of Professional Gerontologists (NAPG). 

In addition to being available to traditional students, the program's content and flexibility make it a natural fit for working professionals, or as a concurrent program for professional and graduate students.
