Notice of Adoption of Paid Time Off for Volunteer Services Policy
Pursuant to the University Policy-Making Policy, the following action is proposed:
ADOPTION OF PAID TIME OFF FOR VOLUNTEER SERVICES POLICY
SUMMARY:
This new policy provides full benefits-eligible employees 8 hours (prorated by FTE) of paid time off each calendar year to participate in volunteer activities with 501(c)(3) organizations or federal, state, or local government agencies.
Specific reporting codes for employees to record paid time off for volunteering are now available in the UAccess time reporting system:
- VLE – Volunteer Leave – Exception (Salary)
- VLP - Volunteer Leave – Positive (Hourly)
In the comments section, indicate the name of the organization you volunteered for and the volunteer service you provided.
