Thanks to a generous gift from Paul and Alice Baker, the Arizona Institutes for Resilience is pleased to announce the "Paul and Alice Baker Endowed Postdoctoral Research Associate in Climate Change and Human Resiliency."

The position is available through AIR but may be transferred to any relevant academic unit with which the successful postdoctoral candidate will be affiliated. Funding for this single, prestigious position will be for 2 years, from August 2023 through May 2025 and will pay $70K per year, plus benefits typically associated with postdoctoral research associates and a budget of $2,500 for operations/travel. The deadline for applications is March 17, 2023. Applicants will be required to submit a letter of support from a prospective faculty postdoctoral supervisor to ensure that they will be properly mentored, if selected.

The possible research areas for this postdoctoral award are as described below:

"The Baker Prize will elevate scholarship and dissemination of pressing global challenges in climate science and human resiliency, while advancing the recipient's scholarship in the field. The prize will advance the science of future leaders and more broadly, grow the pipeline of scholars dedicated to tackling climate and environmental problems through science. We seek a collaborative individual with inter- and transdisciplinary research interests who is motivated to integrate perspectives across disciplines relevant to climate change and human resiliency."
