University of Arizona FORGE (Finding Opportunities and Resources to Grow Entrepreneurs) has opened applications for FORGE Ahead Crucible, an exciting new program for advanced startups to "level up" quickly in commercialization and investment readiness.

The 8-week program takes place at FORGE at Roy Place in downtown Tucson, Arizona Tuesdays through Thursdays from September 12th to November 2nd, 2023. Founders can expect intensive professional development, mentorship from industry professionals, weekly milestone check-ins, pitch practice sessions, investor introductions and opportunities to demonstrate their work. Crucible teams accepted into the program will receive an $8,000 stipend to offset travel and related costs.  Startup companies are encouraged to apply by August 20th.

For those with questions about the program, an online information session with Q&A will be held Wednesday, August 9th. Register for the online information session here or email info@forge.arizona.edu for details.

Crucible focuses on teams that have traction in revenue, users, market, or fundraising, and are on the verge of breaking into broader commercial distribution. These are companies wanting to move forward into larger markets, or broader influence, but need key components to take that next step. The application process guides companies through questions to determine if they qualify for the program, including a self-reported third-party assessment of overall investment readiness. To be eligible for Crucible, companies should be at Abaca Level 5 indicating that they have a profitable business model.

A crucible can be defined as a container in which metal is heated to high temperatures in a forge or a situation where different elements interact to lead to the creation of something new.  The FORGE Ahead Crucible program builds on the success of the FORGE Ahead Residency, an existing 12-month program for venture development, by accelerating the process.  The intense and focused opportunity to grow professionally in only 8-weeks makes it ideal for founding teams looking to enhance their skills quickly.  The FORGE Ahead Crucible program has an application deadline of August 20th and founders will be notified if they have been selected by August 24th.
