Benefits Open Enrollment Begins Today – Oct. 22

Division of Human Resources
October 22, 2018

Benefits Open Enrollment begins today and continues until 5 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018. During this time, you may enroll in, cancel, or change your 2019 plan coverage elections for:

  • Medical
  • Dental
  • Vision
  • Supplemental Life
  • Short-term Disability
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

Do I need to do anything during this year's Benefits Open Enrollment?
You need to take action if you want to participate, or continue participating, in the Healthcare and/or Dependent Care FSA plans in 2019, AND/OR you want to make changes to your other existing benefits.

What happens if I do nothing?
If you do not make any changes, your current benefit elections will automatically carry over into the 2019 plan year. The only exceptions are your current FSA elections, which do not automatically carry over from year to year.

Is anything changing this year?
Employee premiums for the EPO, PPO, and UA Alternative Health Plans* are increasing in 2019. The average increase will be $3 per paycheck. Other changes:

  • EPO medical plan and the UA Alternative medical plan will have a deductible of $100 for individual coverage and $200 for family coverage
  • Some UA Alternative medical plan copays are changing
  • The Unum Short Term Disability rate is increasing
  • The maximum amount you can contribute to the Healthcare Flexible Spending Account Plan is increasing

How can I get more information?
Visit the Division of Human Resources Open Enrollment website for details on what’s changing, plan information and premium rates for 2019.
