Subject: Captioning Webinar With Automatic Sync, March 29
Date: Mar 19, 2018

Due to the new requirements related to the accessibility of the UA's public online content, departments are now responsible for ensuring that public media is captioned. (Read the memo here.) The Disability Resource Center will continue to caption video material for individual disability accommodation requests – including access to both course material and campus events. DRC staff is also available to provide guidance on how to how to make certain your public media and websites are accessible.

The University has several contracts with captioning providers that are available to the campus community. Departments can set up an account with any of these vendors that will best serve their needs.

DRC has worked with the captioning companies to set up webinars about captioning services. The first webinar will be hosted by Automatic Sync Technologies and will cover information about why captioning is important. The presentation will take place March 29th at 2:30pm via Zoom. More information and details on how to register is listed in the attached PDF.

Additionally – the DRC has set aside a meeting room during this webinar if you would like to participate as a group. If you are interested in joining us at the DRC, please email us at drc-communicationaccess@email.arizona.edu to get the room location and other details.
