Notice of Proposed Policy or Policy Revision:

Political Activity and Lobbying Policy (Interim)

Pursuant to the authority established by Arizona Board of Regents Policy No. 1-201, et seq., and the University of Arizona's policy on University Policy-making, the following action is proposed:

ADOPTION OF POLITICAL ACTIVITY AND LOBBYING POLICY

SUMMARY: This University policy replaces two existing policies (in the UHAP and Classified Staff Manual), which do not align with First Amendment principles, and do not provide adequate guidance or reflect best practices for the types of political activities in which University employees typically engage. Having been signed on an interim basis, this policy is in effect immediately, but comments are being accepted prior to permanent adoption.

A copy of the interim policy is available at the University Policies website. Members of the University community are invited to submit written comments using the Feedback box on the Policy website. All comments must be received by close of business on Friday, March 27, 2020.
