Darcy Van Patten Joins UITS as Executive Director, Student & Academic Technologies

Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to announce Darcy Van Patten has joined University Information Technology Services (UITS) as Executive Director of Student and Academic Technologies, effective Monday, November 20, 2017. Darcy will be a member of the UITS Executive Leadership team and report to me.

In this new role, Darcy will be responsible for leading and advancing core and innovative technologies in support of student success at the University of Arizona. She will manage and oversee a broad range of systems and services, including PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, the enterprise transaction system supporting all phases of student lifecycle management; D2L/Brightspace; lecture capture and other classroom technologies support; and student computing lab services. Darcy will also work with university partners to create a strategic plan for advancing student systems and academic technologies that support students as they become lifelong learners and enter the modern workforce.

Darcy is a business and information technology leader with 25 years of experience in project management, data analysis, and organizational design. She was most recently a Principal Product Strategy Manager with Oracle where she oversaw product management for Oracle Student Cloud, a portfolio of student management and customer experience solutions to support the modern needs of higher education. Prior to Oracle, Darcy was Director of Student Information Systems at University of Washington, where she served as product owner and oversaw all aspects of product delivery and service management.
