Deadline March 22 for 2017-2018 UA Academic Leadership Institute Applications

Office of the Provost and Division of Human Resources
March 13, 2017

Reminder: Applications for the 2017-2018 Academic Leadership Institute are due next Wednesday, on March 22 and can be submitted at ali.arizona.edu. See attachment for program dates.

Recognizing that high-quality and innovative leadership is essential for the University of Arizona to achieve its aspirations, I am very pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the eighth cohort of the Academic Leadership Institute.

This program demonstrates our commitment to enhancing the capacity of current and emerging leaders, and has been recognized as a national model. The Institute provides a yearlong series of workshops, individual self- assessments, and collaborative discussions led by national experts in the area of leadership development. Full- day workshops are complemented by morning programs with University and community leaders. Since its launch during the 2010-11 academic year, 175 faculty, appointed professionals, department heads, senior administrators, and campus leaders have attended the Institute and have praised the program in the highest possible terms. A significant number of Institute fellows have been tapped to lead key projects and promoted into new leadership roles, and many point to the Institute as opening these new opportunities.

Applications are due March 22, and must include a letter of recommendation from a writer who can speak to the applicant’s leadership potential. Letters from department heads, deans and vice presidents are encouraged. For more information, visit: ali.arizona.edu.

This website includes lists of the graduates of the Academic Leadership Institute. Their contributions provide the best evidence of just how valuable this opportunity has been.

I hope you will consider applying for this career development opportunity.
