Date: Jan 19, 2018

NSF Innovation Corps or "I-Corps" is an initiative to prepare scientists and engineers to expand their focus beyond the laboratory and increase the impact of basic research through building an understanding of their target market.

Awards of up to $3,000 supported with expert instruction to help you succeed are available.

Why should you apply?

  • Program participants receive up to $3,000 for teams to travel and get to know who the customers are for their technology inventions.
  • Teams participate in six weekly class sessions, taught by experts from the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship and the community, where they learn techniques for customer discovery; practice the "Lean Launch" startup method; and polish their plans, knowledge and presentation skills.

Spring 2018 applications are due February 14 at 5:00 PM. The application is brief and easy to complete.

The UA's NSF I-Corps program is offered through Tech Launch Arizona, the office of the UA that commercializes inventions stemming from research. If your research has led to an invention, contact TLA so we can help you report it and investigate opportunities to expand the impact of your work.
