Dear graduate students, postdocs, and faculty,

This spring, we're offering four workshops that offer practical tips and strategies on how instructors can create more inclusive classrooms. If you attend all four workshops, you earn a "Leader in Classroom Diversity & Inclusion" certificate. Please see the attachment or the "Diversity in the Classroom" webpage to learn more about the workshops and the certificate. These workshops are open to all graduate students, postdocs, and faculty.

The workshops occur on Thursdays from 12-1:30 starting March 14 and are delivered by experts from across campus. The workshops have been improved based on prior feedback. Because these workshops are highly interactive with time for small group discussions, we do not currently record them or offer them by Zoom. The workshops are:

  • "Designing Effective Courses for Diverse Learners": Thu, March 14, 12-1:30, Student Union, Sabino Room, Level 3, RSVP required
  • "Reducing Unconscious Bias & Micro-Aggressions in the Classroom": Thu, March 21, 12-1:30, Student Union, Sabino Room, Level 3, RSVP required
  • "Microaffirmations for Student Success": Thu, March 28, 12-1:30, ENR2 Building, Room S107, RSVP required
  • "Serving Our International Students: Perspectives on Different Classroom Expectations": Thu, April 4, 12-1:30, Old Main, Silver and Sage Room, RSVP required
