The University is implementing the next phase of the campus wired network security upgrade in all University buildings. This effort is part of the University's response to the state information security audit and is part of improving security for you and your data on the campus network.
If your Ethernet jack has a switch (a splitter or hub that plugs into the jack to allow two or more devices to plug into the network), it will need to be replaced.
- By March 2021, all switches and all devices plugged into the network will need to conform to the new network security policy, or you will not be able to connect to the campus network.
- Please let your departmental IT staff know about any switches in your area by Friday, Dec.18, 2020 so that they can arrange for the replacement.
