Subject: Free and Convenient COVID-19 Testing on Main Campus

Date: August 9, 2021

The University offers voluntary, free, and convenient COVID-19 testing to students, employees and DCCs, regardless of vaccination status. We strongly encourage everyone to be tested for COVID-19 regularly*.

If you are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, you may test through the Test All Test Smart program on Main Campus. Visit Testing Locations & Hours to register for testing and schedule your test. Testing appointments are required and same-day appointments are usually available.

If you experience COVID-19 symptoms, stay isolated, self-quarantine and make an appointment to get tested with Campus Health Services or your healthcare provider. If you are vaccinated, please note that the symptoms for breakthrough infections are more similar to a cold, whereas unvaccinated individuals tend to experience symptoms more like a case of the flu.

Date Location Test Type Who Can Test
Through Aug. 13 Student Union – Catalina Room PCR All employees, DCCs and students
Aug. 16-22 Student Union – Catalina Room Rapid Antigen All employees, DCCs and students
Beginning Aug. 23 Student Union – Catalina Room Rapid Antigen All campus housing residents
Beginning Aug. 23 North Rec, Student Union – Arizona Room PCR All employees, DCCs and off-campus students

Continue to visit the Testing Locations & Hours page for more information.

Antibody Testing

Ongoing voluntary antibody testing is available statewide for anyone in Arizona age 18 and over through the University of Arizona IRB-approved research study. An antibody test determines whether you have developed an immune response to COVID-19 infection or vaccination. The test is not used to diagnose an active infection.

In Tucson, antibody testing is offered at the Clinical and Translational Science (CATS) Research Center lab on Health Sciences campus. Visit the University's antibody testing page to learn more, view additional locations, and make an appointment.

*In accordance with the new Arizona statute, COVID-19 testing is no longer mandatory for any students or employees. In the event of a significant COVID-19 outbreak in a shared student housing setting, the University may require students and/or employees to comply with mandatory COVID-19 testing. Prior to implementing this requirement, the University will receive approval from the Arizona Department of Health Services.
