Internship Readiness Program
The Edge is a free internship readiness program provided by Career Services and Leadership Programs. Edge is designed to help give students the edge when seeking internships. Through self-assessment, professional development workshops, networking and action planning opportunities, the Edge program will help students develop the skills they need to become Real-World Ready. In this program, students will engage in numerous interactive activities and prepare important career documents such as their resume, cover letters and personalized goals. Students will be able to apply these skills in real-world scenarios while they directly network with employers and conduct an internship search in the area of their interest. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a certificate of completion that they can include on their resume.
What will I do?
- Gain effective resume writing and interviewing skills
- Network directly with employers
- Complete self-assessments to determine your critical career and leadership development areas
- Participate in a series of 8 career and leadership development workshops to prepare you for internships and the future
- Participate in supplemental workshops for further development and gain hands on experience
What will I get?
- A multidisciplinary learning opportunity that will looking great on a resume
- Individual advice and support from leadership and career development professionals
- An opportunity to build critical job readiness skills
- Opportunity to network with employers and exclusive access at the Career Fair and Diversity Mixer
- Certificate of completion
