Invitation to Update Your Demographic Information

Did you ever think that your demographic data could help the University of Arizona save jaguars? By sharing a little bit of your “self(ie)” in, you can support the University's jaguar research.

When federal agencies like the U.S. Department of Agriculture, NASA, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service consider the University for a research partnership like our jaguar observation sites, one factor they look at is our workforce's aggregate demographic data.

Wait, did that jaguar take a selfie?

Yes! Our researchers track the movements of jaguars and other big cats using wildlife cameras – and receive occasional "selfies" like the one attached.

My information helps research?

Yes. The University's jaguar researchers host more than 140 observation sites over 16 mountain ranges, where wildlife cameras have captured 41 unique jaguars in more than 2 million individual photos. Gathering jaguar image data helps our researchers save these animals and their ecosystems.

As a federal contractor, the University is required to annually report aggregate employee demographic data, which ensures our ability to receive federal research dollars.

What can I do?

To help ensure UA has the most accurate information, please take a moment to log in to and update your confidential demographic information, including disability and veteran status.

How will you use my information?

The information you provide is kept confidential and is only used for evaluation and reporting purposes. The information you provide will not be used as the basis for any employment decisions.

How do I update my information?

To verify or update your information, log in to UAccess Employee ( with your UA NetID and password and select: Employee Self Service > Personal Information.  From there, you may access and update your veteran status, disability, and race/ethnicity information. For technical assistance with UAccess, please contact UITS’ 24/7 IT Support Center at (520) 626-TECH (8324) or (877) 522-7929.

What if I've already updated my information?

If you have not had a change in status, such as a new disability, you do not need to reaffirm your information. However, we ask that you review your status in UAccess to ensure UA has the most current information.

How do I find out more about the University's disability resources?

The University strives to create an environment that is accessible and inclusive for all employees. The UA's Disability Resource Center (DRC) partners with University departments to eliminate barriers to access and promote inclusion. The DRC is also the primary point of contact for disabled employees regarding barriers to access and requests for reasonable accommodations.
