The Office of Academic Affairs seeks an exceptional scholar to fill the endowed chair for Director of the Center for University Education Scholarship (CUES). The successful candidate will have the vision and experiences to lead the UA in carrying out the CUES mission of becoming a model for innovation and scholarship on teaching and learning at the University. Established in January 2017, CUES' goals are to:

  • provide a central unit for intellectual leadership and operational support of the mission;
  • offer programs that educate faculty on evidence-based teaching and learning practices;
  • create cross-disciplinary synergies among faculty members who share interests in innovation and scholarship on teaching and learning;
  • support scholarly initiatives addressing grand challenges in teaching and learning.

This part-time appointment is intended to permit the faculty member to stay engaged in scholarship and teaching in his/her home department, with a modified workload to accommodate the work in the Office of the Provost. CUES Director will hold a current faculty appointment in a UA academic unit. The successful candidate will receive the additional title of Director and stipend added to the base salary. The Director will report directly to the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost for his/her CUES responsibilities.
