Subject: A Joint Summer Book Discussion
Date: Jun 03, 2019

Greetings everyone!

I am excited to invite you to a collaborative summer book read and discussion between the University of Arizona (UA) and Pima Community College (PCC).

We will read Becoming Hispanic-Serving Institutions: Opportunities for Colleges & Universities (2019) by Dr. Gina Ann Garcia, assistant professor of higher education at the University of Pittsburgh and a leading researcher on HSIs.

We will use this book as a springboard to discuss what it means to be a Hispanic Serving Institution and ways in which the UA and PCC can partner in doing this work.

Administrators, faculty, staff, and students from both institutions are invited to participate. Two discussion sessions are scheduled at 9:00-10:30am on June 25 (UA) and July 16 (Pima). Join one or both!

Let's read, discuss, and collaborate!

Click here to view more details and to sign up. Interested in co-facilitating a discussion? If so, please sign up when you RSVP.

Please feel free to circulate this email.  For questions, please contact Monique Beltran at mbeltran1@email.arizona.edu.
