Lunch-and-Learn With UA Mining/Internet of Things Startup
You may have heard the news about GUIA, a recent startup out of the College of Engineering. They’ve been featured on Arizona Public Media and KJZZ in Phoenix.
You’re invited to a lunch-and-learn event hear from the inventors, Associate Professor Moe Momayez and Professor Emerita Mary Poulton, as they lead a discussion around their research and how it led to the internet of things platform that they are now bringing to bear on mine safety and operations in practice through commercialization.
Speakers will also include Bob Sleeper, licensing manager for the College of Engineering, and Kevin McLaughlin, TLA mentor-in-residence, who provided services to facilitate the patenting and commercialization process.

Where: Student Union Memorial Center, Tucson Room
This presentation is primarily for faculty, researchers, graduate students and staff. A light lunch will be provided, so please RSVP by 5:00 PM on January 29 so we have an accurate count.
