Subject: Main Library on-site services close on April 8

Date: April 7, 2020

In order to further facilitate social distancing, the remaining on-site services at Main Library will be closed indefinitely after Wednesday, April 8, at 5pm.

Library users can pick up existing holds (from requests submitted by April 3) and students can borrow technology from 1-5pm on April 8 at the Main Library entrance.

As a result:

  • Students who need a laptop after April 8 can schedule an appointment with us by email:
  • New hold/pickup or scanning requests for physical items are no longer being accepted and processed.
  • Document delivery and interlibrary loan services will continue in electronic formats only.

The Albert B. Weaver Science-Engineering Library, the Fine Arts Library, the Health Sciences Library, and Special Collections remain closed.

Access to more digital content

Through a strategic partnership with HathiTrust, over 1 million of the University Libraries' physical books will soon be available to UA affiliates in electronic format through the HathiTrust Digital Library. Books can be checked out for renewable one-hour increments and are for reading online only. Check University Libraries for updates about this and other digital resources.

Library staff are still available for research support and other inquiries by email, voice message, and text.

  • Monday-Friday 7am-11pm
  • Saturday 9am-6pm
  • Sunday noon-11pm
