Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio Deactivation of Previous License Key Versions Jan. 6

To: Faculty and Staff
From: University Information Technology Services
Subject: Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio Deactivation of Previous License Key Versions Jan. 6
Date: Dec 12, 2019

Older versions of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio acquired with a license download key from UA BookStores will be deactivated on January 6, which means you will not be able to access the software.

The Microsoft Campus Agreement this year is operating under a new cost model. As part of that agreement we have lost rights to older versions of the MS Project and MS Visio software. Any versions of MS Project and MS Visio that are not the 2019 online versions are out of compliance.

Get ahead of this deadline: Uninstall the older version(s) and request your free 2019 Project and/or Visio online licenses now (See "How Do I Get It" section below).

WHOM DOES THIS AFFECT?

This affects UA faculty and staff only!

NOTE: The removal of older MS Project or MS Visio versions does not apply to faculty or staff in a department who purchased a personal copy of these products. The deactivation applies to versions obtained using a campus license download key from the UA Bookstores.

HOW DO I GET IT?

  • Remove older versions of MS Project and MS Visio before installation of new 2019 copy.
  • Go to https://uaservice.arizona.edu to request your new copy.
  •  Check the box that states, "By checking this box the signature authority agrees to remove all previous versions of MS Project/MS Visio from their device(s) before installing the current licensed product."

You will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to download/access.

If you have questions about your MS Project or MS Visio software, contact your departmental IT support person.
