New Information Security policies for the University of Arizona have recently been approved by President Robert C. Robbins. The policies support the University of Arizona's mission by educating the University community about ways to reduce potential threats to data or technology systems.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to review these policies at: http://policy.arizona.edu/information-technology and the "What do the policies mean for me?" document that answers basic policy questions.

The Information Security Office looks forward to collaborating with members of the University community to achieve compliance with the new information security policies.

More than 60 individuals from various units across campus comprised the group that helped to establish these policies. Additionally, key stakeholders had the opportunity to review these polices and provide feedback prior to approval.

There will be a grace period for campus units, employees, and faculty to become compliant with the new policies through October 31, 2019. An online exception request form will be announced in the coming weeks. In the meantime, exceptions may be requested by contacting security@arizona.edu or (520) 621-6700.

Information Security Office policy compliance is a step towards campus units, faculty, and staff demonstrating security best practices. For more information, or if you have any questions, please contact the Information Security Office.
