New Lactation Spaces on Campus
Twelve new lactation spaces have been added to our Tucson campus and at the University of Arizona sites around the state – bringing the current number of University lactation spaces to thirty-five. Lactation spaces are rooms or freestanding pods that provide a safe, quiet and comfortable space for faculty, staff, students and visitors, to use to pump or feed their children.
New lactation spaces on the Tucson campus include:
- Student Union Memorial Center
- University Services Building
- Highland Commons
7 New Lactation Rooms
- McKale Center
- Administration Building
- Campus Recreation – SouthREC
- CAPLA Building
- Kuiper Space Sciences Building
- Modern Languages
- Psychology
New lactation rooms at sites around the state include:
- La Paz County Cooperative Extension Office
- Glenn Curtis Building Yuma Agricultural Center
Four additional lactation rooms are in development and will be completed this semester, including one in the Marley Building on the Tucson campus and three rooms at the Phoenix Bioscience Core campus.
Instructions on accessing the lactation rooms and pods can be found on the Life & Work Connections Family Resource Map (click on the location for instructions) or by downloading the Mamava App.
The Family Resource Map also includes the location of family restrooms, changing stations, and high chairs.
All new lactation spaces are ADA accessible and fill in areas between existing lactation rooms on campus, particularly where there is a high traffic flow of students, faculty, staff and visitors.
The Lactation Space Expansion Project is part of the University's family-friendly initiative in line with our commitment to being a family-friendly place to work, learn and grow.
