The University's Park & Ride program has added a new parking location and annual permit option for employees. Park & Ride locations are lots located around the city of Tucson for employees to park their personal vehicles and ride one of the University's Cat Tran buses to main campus.

The new low-cost permit option was created with early-shift employees in mind and will have early-morning Cat Tran services. The lot is located at the UA Tech Park at the Bridges, 1600 E. Idea Lane.

Annual Park & Ride Permit Details:

  • Cost: $105 per year
  • Available to purchase immediately and will be valied Aug. 14, 2023, to Aug. 16, 2024.

    • If you already have a permit and wish to change to The Bridges, email PTS with the subject line "Request Exchange to Bridges Park & Ride."
  • Permit may be purchased through credit/debit card payments or through Auto Renew Permit – Payroll Deduction.

    • Note: Selecting the Auto Renew option means that beginning 2024-2025, your permit will renew automatically each year and will be paid for by payroll deduction.
  • Park & Ride at The Bridges is the only annual permit in the program.

    • Other Park & Ride locations are academic year permits.
  • To purchase: Follow the UA Employee, Student and DCC Permit Purchase Instructions on the Parking & Transportation Services website.

The Bridges location will be serviced by the Cat Tran Red Route, providing employees transportation to main campus in front of the Meinel Optical Sciences building and other stops along the Red Route. The earlier start time will allow early shift employees a low-cost option to park and get to work.

  • Four early Red Route pickup times at The Bridges will get you to main campus before 6 a.m., Monday through Friday.

    • The Red Route bus will begin service from The Bridges to main campus daily at 3:55 a.m., dropping off at the Meinel Optical Sciences building at approximately 4:13 a.m., 4:45 a.m., 5:17 a.m. and 5:49 a.m.
  • The Red Route bus will run throughout the day, Monday through Friday, starting at 3:55 a.m. with a final pickup from Meinel at 7:27 p.m.
