The University is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible environment for pregnant and parenting students and employees. Pregnant and parenting students and employees can often arrange necessary flexibility by working directly with their instructors, supervisors or departments.

Alternatively, employees or students who are pregnant, recovering from childbirth or breastfeeding may request reasonable accommodations through the Disability Resource Center (DRC). Examples of accommodations for employees include leave of absence, schedule flexibility and classroom-related requests (e.g. scheduling classes near a lactation room or private office). For students, accommodations might include flexibility related to attendance or exams.

There are a number of University resources available for pregnant and parenting students and employees, such as:

Lactation rooms

• Paid parental leave for graduate assistants/associates and employees

• Childcare subsidies for students and employees

For additional information about accommodations as well as University resources available for pregnant and parenting students and employees, please click here. Additional information for employees is available on the Human Resources website.

If you have questions about reasonable accommodations for pregnant and parenting students and employees, please contact the DRC at 520-621-3268.
