Subject: Preventing Harassment and Discrimination Training Available in EDGE Learning
Date: Sep 22, 2021

The beginning of the new academic year provides an opportunity to reinforce the University’s goal of fostering a learning, working, and living environment free from all forms of discrimination, including harassment.

We are guided by our core values – Integrity, Compassion, Exploration, Adaptation, Inclusion, and Determination – in ensuring that we maintain a culture of respect where everyone feels valued. As part of our commitment to foster an equitable and supportive environment, the University strictly prohibits all forms of discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or genetic information.

To better recognize and address behaviors such as discrimination, harassment and implicit bias, the Office of Institutional Equity has launched a new discrimination and harassment prevention training for all faculty, staff, student workers, and designated campus colleagues (DCCs).

How to access the training

The new training can be accessed through EDGE Learning using your NetID. Step-by-step instructions for enrolling are available at EDGE Learning.

Timeline

All faculty, staff, student workers and DCCs are expected to complete the training by Oct. 31, if they have not already completed the training using the EDGE platform.

Tips for Completion:

  • If you are unable to complete the training in one session, your progress will be saved when logging off and you can resume the session at a later time.
  • Learners must use the full extension of their NetID and University email address (netid @email.arizona.edu) to log in. Should you need assistance with your NetID, please contact UITS 24/7 Support Center at it.arizona.edu/get-support or by dialing 520.626.TECH (8324).
  • The EDGE platform works best using either Google Chrome or Firefox.

Thank you for your engagement on these important issues and for your commitment to ensuring a respectful, welcoming, and inclusive community.
