Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) wrapped up its second annual Peanut Butter Drive this month. The food drive offered drivers an opportunity to pay eligible citations issued between March 11 and March 22 with peanut butter and jelly donations. All donations collected benefited UA Campus Pantry.

For many, peanut butter is a quintessential after-school snack that is also a good source of protein and vitamins. For the UA Campus Pantry, this pantry staple is a much-needed resource that is always in high demand but not always donated during regular food drives.

The UA Campus Pantry helps fight food insecurity on campus by providing essential food staples to students and staff. Building on the success of last year's campaign, we worked with the UA Campus Pantry to see how we make a bigger impact, so jelly was added to our food drive recipe.

PTS collected over 400 jars of peanut butter and jelly with over 180 participants. That adds up to 8,280 ounces of peanut butter and 3,726 ounces of jelly – which will make a lot of sandwiches.

Our Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive is one of Parking and Transportation Services' many community initiatives. For more information about PTS, please visit parking.arizona.edu. To learn about the UA4Food drive, visit uacares.arizona.edu.
