As school begins, we will see a greater number of vehicles and pedestrians than we do at any other time of the school year. Traffic will be heavy throughout campus and particularly near the center of campus. This is an annual occurrence and we are working with UAPD to deal with the traffic in key areas. Please be patient as new students, faculty and staff learn to get around campus.

We have some suggestions for the beginning of the school year that will help lessen congestion and lower everyone's frustration level.

  • If possible, stagger your arrival and exit times to avoid the times around 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Consider carpooling or taking some form of alternative transportation – bike, walk or ride the bus!
  • Give yourself some extra time to move around campus. Delays of several minutes are possible.
  • Use the Cat Tran to get around campus. Our new online GPS system www.arizona.transloc.com allows you to track where the bus is at all times!
  • If you are parking as a visitor in a parking garage, please pay the cashier before you go to your vehicle so that you do not have to re-park or block a drive aisle. If you are staying all day,    consider prepaying for your parking at the cashier booth so that you do not have to stop on the     way out.

If everyone does a little bit, we can have a large impact on traffic around campus. Thank you for your assistance and have a wonderful school year!
