Reminder About Vacation Carry Forward

Subject: Reminder About Vacation Carry Forward

As we approach the end of the calendar year, we would like to remind you that employees may only carry forward (into the next calendar year) a maximum of one and a half times the number of vacation hours earned during the year. Per University policy, vacation hours in excess of this amount are forfeited.

The following information can assist you in determining if or how you might be affected:

  • Vacation hours for the 2015 calendar year will continue to accrue through the pay period that ends on December 20, 2015.
  • You must use excess vacation hours by January 3, 2016, or you will forfeit them.
  • After any excess hours have been forfeited, vacation hours accrued during the pay period that ends on January 3, 2016, will be applied to your 2016 vacation balance.

To view your current vacation leave balance, please log in to your timesheet in UAccess Employee. At the bottom of the screen, select "Balances - Click to View."
