Research Grand Challenges in Healthy Aging Virtual Workshop
You are invited to a virtual workshop: Research Grand Challenges in Healthy Aging.
January 28, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
This virtual research workshop will bring together experts from across the University of Arizona Health Sciences and the University of Arizona to identify collaborative research opportunities that meet the challenges and opportunities of healthy aging.
What to expect:
Interactive Presentation
- Get to know the depth and breadth of expertise in aging at the UArizona
Grand Challenges Brainstorming Session
- A facilitator-led discussion to identify challenges and opportunities in healthy aging
Breakout Rooms to Form Collaborative Teams
- Form new collaborations with peers to design research projects on the grand challenges of healthy aging
Opportunity to Apply for Seed Grants
- Awards of up to $100,000 to perform research that addresses the grand challenges of healthy aging are available
Expected outcomes of the workshop
- Participants will gain a greater understanding of the expertise in aging at the UArizona
- Participants will form new collaborations and connections with their peers
- A minimum of three new research teams will be formed to apply for seed grants to perform research that addresses the grand challenges of healthy aging. These awards are eligible for use as faculty buy-out time, graduate research assistant support, and operational funds to support the winning projects.
